It finished goalless at Maes Tegid as Haverfordwest County stay third in table as they picked up a valuable point on the road against Bala Town.

Tony Pennock’s Haverfordwest County outfit made two changes from the team that lost heavily against TNS last week who were confirmed as champions on Friday night, into the starting line up came Greg Walters and Jacob Owain whilst Luc Owen took his place on the bench.

The Lakesiders have lost five games on the bounce since the split, last week Penybont snatched victory in the 96th minute from James Crole.

Early in the match Rhys Abbruzzese’s free kick was headed on for Ben Ahmun who headed straight to goalkeeper Joel Torrance.

Skipper Dylan Rees’s ball over the top just evaded Corey Shephard as Torrance gathered.

At the other end Callum Edwards’ hooked shot inside the area was comfortably gathered by Zac Jones.

Ahmun shot from a tight angle is palmed away by Torrance, five minutes before the break Joe Malkin’s low drive from the edge of the 18-yard box is saved by Jones.

Shortly after the interval Jacob Owain tries a goal bound 25 yard curler which flew over the crossbar. Minutes later the Bluebirds continue to press as Lee Jenkins’ cross is headed over the bar by Ahmun.

A clever through ball set-up a good chance for Greg Walters, the midfielder beat the offside trap as his near post shot is saved by Torrance.

The Lakesiders’ had limited opportunities as Callum Edwards’ shot from distance does not trouble Jones. Goalkeeper Jones also pulled off a smart save to deny Malkin at his near post, minutes later Malkin missed with a point blank header,
